Great way to celebrate a party! Especially a Water party in one called Pattaya Songkran 2013 Festival. Really its a water festival to get beautiful Pattaya Girls wet. Almost the biggest wet t-shirt contest in the world!
Seriously, my take on this whole festival is that the pattaya girls should be wearing white tshirts.
Some Background to the Songkran Festival
Dates of the festival was chosen originally by calculations of astrology but it has now been corrected to match the calendar date. Songkran will generally fall on the HOTTEST times of the year in Thailand near the end of any dry season.
Besides Songkran Festival's storied tradition of throwing water, people also celebrate it as a buddist festival where prayers and food are donated to monks for good luck and prosperity. New years resolutions are not common but not unheard of. Songkran is a time of cleansing and re-newal. Spring Cleaning is common at this time, keep in mind, the pattaya girls are doing this work!
Local pattaya hotels will take this time to host many events! Many of the local pattaya hotels will host beauty pageants with the winner being the one with the most financial support from the audience. With that extra money, a night's stay at a Pattaya hotel isn't out of the question.
